The Protest in Minneapolis reaches the point of rioting shops and burning buildings, how the government plans to respond. Stopping the spread of the Corona virus has hit more hurdles. Trumps signs in a new executive order as a result from twitter fact checking him and this kid is graduating college with 4 degrees before many kids even enter high school. The Protest in Minneapolis have reached a violent climate as a response to the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police department (MSPD) officers, as one officer had his knee on his neck for over 7 minuets.
Many protesters are outraged at the lack of charges the police have received for the death of George Floyd. Last night we saw buildings in the downtown Minneapolis area being destroyed and some even set ablaze. While we interviewed a local storeowner who poured his life savings to open a sports bar, rioters came back to attempt to steal his safe. Many of the protest have remained peaceful; others justify the aggressive actions as a message to the government and the city that our people will not stand for this anymore.
Spike Moss, a large heard voice for the movement spoke today on the matters saying, the violence doesn’t help but acts as a message that we the people will no longer sand by as police are allowed to get away with these crimes.
Tension still stands at the MSPD’s 3rd precinct as it was torched and set on fire the night before. Protesters remain as we receive word that the state has called in the National Guard in to deescalate the situation.
We are starting to see protests and people speak out nation wide. Cities are seeing bigger crowds and among notable figures, LeBron James was seen wearing a “I can’t breath” shirt during practice.
More remains to be reported as these events unfold.
Covid-19 remains threats to the public, over 1.7 million cases have been reported along with over 100,000 deaths have occurred.
Some of the top drug makers working on the vaccine have reported new troubles, as a shortage of glass tubes will impede on the progress of their work. Serious problems as many are not allowed to go back to work and the ones who are have seen a spike in the spread of the virus.
Yesterday Tyson chicken, the leading producer of the nations chicken meat reported over 300 cases have emerged from just one of their factories as they remain open under essential status.
Many of the leading doctors are worried and concerned if 6 feet is enough to prevent an escalation as across the nation, many states open back up. Alabama being a state that recently opened has reported more than 1,000 new cases since.
Governor Kumo signed a bill allowing stores to refuse service if their patrons fail to wear a mask, an attempt to remedy the spread as well as anger from customers. However we are seeing polarizing opinions as stores in Texas put up signs banning the use of mask in stores.
Unemployment from Covid-19 has reached highs of 40 million applications, nearly one in 4 of the working force has applied. Many companies are still seeing decline in employment numbers. The transit department has seen a spike, with rail way workers declining as much as 20%, airliners such as delta are offering early buyouts to workers as they attempt to make it through these times.
That’s not to say all businesses are letting go of workers. Many Companies like amazon are looking to increase their work force by over 100,000.
One Mother has been struggling to get her unemployment claim through. Claiming to have called the offices over 800 times. She is worried about the impact this will have on her family, she is separated and like many other Americans wonder how they are expected to keep up with or reasonably pay back debt racked up from expenses. With unprecedented times, Things are going to have to continue to change.
President Trump has signed a new executive order today stemming from being fact checked by twitter. The president claims he would completely take down twitter if he had the chance, but laws will not prevent him to do so.
Many speculate on how this new bill, which is supposed to hold media platforms accountable for what their users post, will hold up in court if at all. Many others have speculate that holding social media platforms accountable for what is posted on their sites will only increase pressure to fact check and possibly censor, giving the opposite affect Trump seemingly intended.
The Veterans Affairs or VA has reported a growing fear of increase in suicide from military and veterans amongst the prolonged isolation. Rory, a Marine Corporal had his leg amputated from an explosion while he was serving on a deployment. Coming back home he had a hard time coping with his new life, finding that he was unable to do many of the things he once loved. Last week, Rory was reported dead by a bullet shot to the head. His close friends and family speculate that isolation contributed to this tragedy.
Reports from the VA themselves show 10 times more calls for suicide and mental health checks then what a typical period would be. As well as already banking over 1 million calls this year.

Jack Rico, before the average kid goes into high school at age 13, today celebrates his graduation from college with 4 bachelor degrees. Not only that but he received a 4.0 at Fullerton College. Jack plans to continue his education by going for his bachelors in history.
