NDSU teams up with Women’s Organization Forte to Propel Women in Business

North Dakota, Dec. 9, 2020. Today, North Dakota State University (NDSU) announced the team up with affluent women’s organization “Forte” as part of NDSU’s campaign to get more women into their business graduate program.

“Statistically less then 30% of women go on to get their master’s degree. When it comes to a master’s in business, our leadership program guarantees employers that you have the hands-on experience and qualifications to lead others and successfully run a business.” Explained Jane Foster, head of NDSU’s graduate program. “By partnering with Forte, we will be empowering women to get their higher education along with the hands-on mentoring from other strong women in a leadership position.”

The partnership is adding an extra push for women to continue their education further. With added scholarships, and an added presence of women in power as mentors aided by connections with Forte. The collaborative effort makes for an encouraging and empowering environment for women considering the prestigious degree.

Forte is a woman forward organization with the mission to “Launch women into fulfilling, significant careers through access to business education, professional development, and a community of successful women.” Their driving factor to empower women lies in the statistics from their website, Fortefoundation.org which include:

  • Only 38% of Forté MBA grads are women, compared to 50% in law and medical schools.

  • 6.6% of Fortune 500 CEOs are women.

  • Only 21.2% of S&P 500 board members are women.

Sarah Parker, CEO of Forte added “Now is a pivotal time for women to go back to school. With a down economy, using this time to reinvest in yourself will help by the time you get out and jobs start to come back. It might be intimidating finically but that is why Forte is here and with the help of NDSU, that investment will flourish for a lifetime.”

With the new incentives, NDSU is hoping to see a rise in numbers of graduate students, as they prepare for the economy and jobs to bounce back.
